Arsenal Midfielder Jack Wilshere Confirms He’s Leaving The Club

After months of speculation, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has confirmed that he is to leave the club when his contract expires.

Arsenal had been hoping to keep the 26-year-old at the Emirates beyond this summer with the offer of a new deal (albeit on a reduced salary), but Wilshere, despite agreeing to sign the agreement, has now confirmed that he is to leave the Premier League side for what he calls “footballing reasons.”

Taking to his Instagram account on Tuesday, Wilshere announced that he would be departing the club:

Wilshere came through the youth ranks at Arsenal, making his Premier League debut for the side in September 2008. He went on to make almost 200 appearances for the club in all competitions for the Premier League side, but his time in North London was seriously impacted by a number of injury problems.
